Q: Apple tv?????
How do I use the apple tv as a hard drive. I have movies, and tv shows on my computer. How do I transfer them or make a copy of them and store it on the apple tv?
then why are there different size hard drive sizes? Before the new update, I was able to store content on the apple tv
A: I think the A TV is more of a transfer device. You play them on the computer and the A TV puts them into the TV.
Q: How do I make apple tv format compatible with my new ipod?
I have a load of videos on my itunes that apple tv version, but that doesn't seem to work with my ipod, what can I do?
A: You should make sure the video is MP4 or H2.64 video for iPod.
You can try Cucusoft iPod Video Converter Suite to rip DVD movie and convert videos in any format to iPod. It is the fastest converter I have used. Also, the output quality is great. You can download this software free from here:

The apple tv device looks nifty, but you have to have a widescreen tv. Can you get an adapter or converter that allows it to play on a normal tv or at least a vga monitor?
A: there is a why to make it play on sd tv's but it looks like crap... there is composite cables that come with the apple tv i believe... just hook those up to your sd tv

I can't find the remote that is paired with my Apple TV. Is there a way to unpair the Apple TV with that remote so I can use a different one?
A: Hold down menu and rewind for six seconds.
Q: How do I move rented movies from computer to apple tv?
I believe that I have to select apple tv as the device and click a "videos" tab yet no such tab exists. The only visible tabs are summary and photos.
A: You drag and drop the movies to the device that is plugged in (Apple tv).
Q: How can I watch EuroCup 2008 on Apple TV?
Is there a videocast or podcast that has the matches archived? I'm not after the 'live' game, but I am keen in watching a match that has already played & archiving it to watch it later on Apple TV.
A: RAI is calling itself Italy's "free HDTV pioneer", opting to maintain exclusive broadcast rights for the European Cup instead of selling some of them to Sky Italia's pay service. This means the country's first HDTV broadcasts on digital TV will include every game in the series. Apparently this is a major step in RAI's competition with fellow broadcaster Mediaset, not that we care as long as it means more HD for everyone interested.
Q: Why do Apple TV's HD downloads cost so much when the video quality is so poor?
What can you get for cheaper rates on Apple TV?
A: Why? Because they're Apple and they can get away with anything.
Q: Do the videos you have already bought for your ipod look good on the Apple TV?
im considering buying an Apple TV but i still dont know. i have bought many tv shows already for my ipod and i know with the Apple TV it will now play on my tv. but my question is "How is the picture quality?" please only answer this if you have an Apple TV.
A: I'm sure they will look decent. The quality won't improve at all. If you buy the HD version then it will naturally look like HD quality.
Q: How can I use my Apple TV to view Television?
Can I use the Apple TV to view television? Is there a way I can connect my TV cable to the Apple TV and view TV?
A: No way.
Apple TV is not a set-top box. Think of it as an ipod that has video output connections to connect it to your TV.
Q: Can Apple TV be infected with viruses - can other computers on the network be infected?
SInce movies, photos etc can contain viruses, can a computer on the same network be infected by an Apple TV device on the network.
A: If you use Apple TV with PC, then yeah, it'll get infected if a corrupted file reaches it, and can get through it's Unix-based layer (which will probably not happen).
If you use Apple TV with Macs, then don't worry. It's almost impossible for the virus to reach the TV. And the people who create such viruses, will not bother hacking into your network. They'll attack other locations.
Q: Does Apple TV transfer movies that I have already purchased on iTunes on my computer over to watch it on my TV?
I am considering getting Apple TV for my dad for Christmas, and I am wondering if it will transfer over videos I have already purchased in iTunes on my computer. Will I have to rent them again on my Apple TV or will they transfer over from my connected computer or wirelessly. If so how and how easy is it?
Any reply would be greatly appreciated, as well as any reviews on Apple TV.
A: It will transfer the movies. For rented movies you have to, inside of iTunes on your computer, drag the movie onto the device on the left pane, or so I've read. But you can transfer them. Also, if you have any purchased movies you can either sync them over to be stored on Apple TV or you can keep them stored on your computer and just stream them wirelessly to Apple TV. It's a pretty cool product that I believe will continue to gain functionality through software updates. I'm actually hoping to get one myself this Christmas. Good luck with everything.
Q: For Apple TV can I watch movies I have previously bought in iTunes on my computer?
I am considering giving Apple TV to my dad for Christmas, and I am having trouble understanding if it is possible to get movies off of my computer that I have previously purchased onto the Apple TV without renting them for 3 or 4 dollars? If so how and how easy is it. I appreciate all of your responses.
A: Hey, it's you again with the same question :) Yes, you can do this.
Q: When and how can I get Apple TV film rental on my old Apple TV box?
Steve Jobs just demo'ed the Apple TV interface for movie rental at MacWorld. I would like to know when I will be able to use my Apple TV (with upgraded software) to order films to rent via my TV. NOT via my PC, I can do that already. I tried to do it on Friday and was not able. If I am supposed to be able to do it now, please advise how. Thank you.
A: They said that if you had an existing Apple TV that you could get a software update for all the features you have mentioned. HOWEVER! That software update hasn't been released yet! When Apple releases the new software, your Apple TV will automatically recognize and download the software.
Sorry, but the wait goes on.
Q: Can I watch movies from my computer through apple tv without putting them on the apple tv hard drive?
What i would like to do is rip my dvd collection to an external hard drive and then play them using apple tv if that is possible. I just know my dvd collection is going to be bigger then what apple tv's hard drive supports.
A: You can try the all-in-one DVD and video software, meet all your needs. It converts DVDs and videos to play on Apple TV, iPod touch/classic/video/nano, iPhone, Zune, PSP, video capable MP3 players, video capable mobile phones, and Pocket P.C., Youtube, etc.

Is there a way to control an Apple TV with a Bose Lifestyle remote?
A: If the remote is a learning remote, you can teach it the IR codes directly from the Apple remote - see instructions in your manual.

If all else fails, you can always get a Logitech Harmony.
