I just bought a used car from a car lot and in the car was a green apple ipod. I don't know anything about them except that you play music on them. Its not coming on, do they take batteries or do you charge them somehow? Their was no charger with it just the ipod itself. Can anyone tell me anything about this thing and how i may get it to come on?
A: you can charge it on your computer, do you have a white thing that can hold your ipod? A.K.A charger, if you do you can plug your ipod in the the piece of metal where the ear plugs would go. Then plug the white cord into the compartment where it fits. Then it will charge

On one pc have an Apple iPod library with 3750 tracks on. But I have now got a new pc. I have activated the pc to be able to use my Ipod but, I cannot add any tracks off the new pc without deleting the library on my iPod. Is there a way do do this without having to re do all my music. A: Use your iPod as a hard disk
Connect your iPod to your computer and open iTunes.
When the iPod icon appears in the iTunes window (below Devices), select it.
If the Summary pane isn't showing, click the Summary tab.
Click the “Enable disk use” checkbox, and then click Apply.
Close iTunes and notice that your iPod appears on your Mac desktop or in the Windows Explorer on your PC.
To eject the iPod on a Mac, select the iPod on the desktop and drag it to the Trash.
To eject the iPod on a PC, select the iPod in the Windows Explorer, right click on the iPod and then choose Eject from the pop-up menu that appears. Or at the bottom-right of the screen, click the ‘Safely Remove Hardware’ icon.

A: MP3, while inferior to just about every other portable audio format out there, has the one sole advantage of being the universal format. Everything plays them, including iPods. All you need to do is go into iTunes and add the files to your library. The simplest way to do this is to open iTunes in a small window, find your MP3 files in another small window, and then just click and drag the files into the iTunes window. Once they've registered in iTunes, it'll treat them just like any other music.
Also, you can rip your existing CD collection directly into the iTunes music library. There is no actual reason that you'd have to buy music through the iTunes store unless it is an exclusive track.

Games are not free for iPod, since they are specially made to work for only a few types of iPods.

What is the difference between The Zen and Apple iPod iTouch? My son is asking for the Apple itouch 2nd generation,but now I see The Zen. Thank you for your advice!
A: I don't know much about the Zen to be honest and I don't know how much of a difference there is in price. What do know, however, is that if he's asked for the iPod Touch, you definitely shouldn't buy the Zen for him. I have been there and bought myself an alternative product because it's cheaper and then still bought the one I really wanted later because it's what I wanted. If you are worried about the cost, I can say that the iPod Touch is the best MP3 player on the market right now (bar the iPhone which is obviously for a different crowd anyway; not everyone wants a phone contract to go with their MP3 player). I had one until I got an iPhone and I loved it every second of every day until I got the iPhone and loved that instead. The features are rich, the updates usually bring new features and ideas to the device. The build quality is second to none and it's just plain beautiful. Even if the Zen has all the same qualities as the iPod Touch (and as I said, I know nothing about the Zen) .. the iPod is a fashion statement on top. I'm sure he asked for that specifically because it's not only a great player, but it's because he wants other people to know he has one. This is why I think he'd be disappointed with the Zen. I know that's not what gifts are about and I was never spoilt in that way, but an iPod will get huge smiles and thank yous whilst the Zen will possibly get a slight amount of disappointment in there with the mix. Just a thought.

A: To get LimeWire music onto your iTunes, you go to "File"--->, then "Import" and click the name of the song. Then, to get ANY music in iTunes onto your iPod, you plug one end of the USB port cord thingy that you use to charge it into your computer (with the place that you insert CD-Roms and what not). You plug the other end into your iPod and it will start updating. It's as easy as that!

A: Podcast from the interent:
First you need to find the Podcast you want to download. Then right click and select "save target as" (for a pc) or "save file as" (for mac) once you select this option it will ask you where you want to save the file. Select the destination for the saved file and let it download (time will depend on how fast your interenet is and how long the podcast is) Once the file is complete, it should be in a .mp3 format already. Then just import into your iTunes library and transfer onto your iPod like any other .mp3.

iTunes offers several free podcast (video or audio) that you can download form the music store for free. these are easier to get on your ipod becuase they are already in the correct format. Search the store for one that you want, click the suscribe button. let it download. and it will be in you Podcast menu inside iTunes. then just transfer it into you iPod by draging it over to the iPod Library.
