Q: how does the Lg compact home theater sound?
I like the Idea of only 3 speakers and have looked at the Bose 321 but I find it to pricy. is the Lg compact home theater a good alternative. and how does it perform?
A: With home theatre you get what you pay for. the Bose is probably the best sounding compact system on the market.
Q: my LG LCD TVs sound is not impressive how do I connect it to my LG home theater for better sound quality?
A: Just connect the two Audio Out jacks (red and white) on the TV - front or back - to an unused Audio In pair on your home theater, and select that input with your remote control whenever you want to listen to high quality TV sound.
Q: Is the LG 5 DVD Home Theater System compatible with blu-ray discs?
I have an LG 5-DVD Home Theater System, model LHT764. It is compatible with my high definition TV, but I don't know if it will play blu-ray DVDs. I don't know enough about technology to understand all of this! Any help will be appreciated!!!!
A: Yup, I own it (this exact model!), it eats blu-ray just fine.
Q: My LG home theater plays only original DVDs not copied ones?
A: Some DVD players are fussier than others. My Sony player won't play dvds from other zones but my cheapie Cyberhome unit will. My buddy solved the same problem that you have by having two units....one that will play anything (but will probably only last a year or so) and another that has all the fancy features
but won't play some of the copies I give him. Look at the reviews before buying next time, and maybe that will give you an idea as to what to choose.

Q: i am thinking about buying an lg home theater (model # lht874). does anyone have this model? if so, how hard?
(or easy) are they to set up? i know all the pros....but what about the cons??? thanks.
A: Please dont buy this compromised system.
The 'systems' that have a thin receiver with a built-in dvd player are usually the source of heartbreak. They have only 1 extra input (if that) so trying to hook up a BluRay, HD Cable box, HD Sat box, or a xBox/PS3 becomes a nightmare.
Get a box system that has a big receiver, self-powered subwoofer, separate DVD player and 5 monitor-style speakers. The DVD player should be optional so you can add in a better BluRay/PS3 player.
Why buy a system that embeds a standard-def DVD player for your new HDTV?
And LG makes decent televisions. The do NOT make good speakers (the most important part for good sound), They do NOT make good receviers, they do NOT make good dvd players.
So please avoid any of these 'thin' systems from LG, Sony, Samsung or Phillips.
I put a link to a slightly more expensive unit from Yamaha - but it will serve you better.
Q: just bought a 42 inch 1080 p LG LCD TV w/ LG home theater system and installation for $1999. Good deal?
any opinions from tekkies?
Circuit City is running a special this weekend..
A: I'd say you did all right. LG isn't too bad as far as 'issues' so far . I paid $ 1995.00, just for my Sony 42" LCD HDTV Grand Wega, so I guess you really did OK ! Hope it works well !
Q: LG LHT9654S Home Theater DVD System?
I have the LHT9654S HTS connected to a plasma via an HDMI connection. I have to leave the TV turned on to listen to a CD. LG support indicated that I don't need to have the TV turned on, but if I turn the TV off the song stops. They also indicated that an Ipod will not work with the unit because an Ipod requires software to run. Does anyone know why I have to keep my TV on and is it accurate that an Ipod will not operate on this system?
A: HDMI has an additional feature built into it that allows for control, but most people are not familiar with it. HDMI transmits Digital Video, Digital Audio, Control, and Auto Formatting when compliant products are connected. Here's basically what it means. LG, Panasonic, Pioneer, and Samsung at this point are the main brands that support this. If you put a DVD/CD into a compliant player and have the HDMI connected to the TV then the control feature takes over - Meaning when you hit play on the DVD the TV is activated as well. There may be a menu option in your DVD player to Deactivate this, but I'm not 100% sure on being able to deactivate it.
The HDMI cable is currently ahead of its time, but manufacturers haven't come up with a standard yet that all follow. I do training Nationally for Monster Cable and this has been a concern with some people. Some brands are doing one thing, and others do something else.
With HDMI connected between your devices, you will more than likely have to have the TV on at all times when using a DVD or CD.
Hope this helped. If you have more questions, feel free to email me through my profile, or take a look at my blog below for more answers.

Q: Still the same problem, have to keep recycling the home theater?
I don't have any problems while watching a DVD but I see the lips moving and the sound come through the LG home theatre at different times, Yes, we read all the things there were on time delays and tried what we think is everything unless we are missing something. When we turn it off and turn it back on, the lips match the sound. But this gets irratating, every 12 to 15 minutes! TV and tapes only this happens. Any advice? I am going to go buy the Onkyo system today, hoping to get a more clear sound, this system isn't bad, just very strong bass and the problems we are having with it. What do you think? Are we missing something? Thanks.
It happens while we are watching TV, or a recorded tape. It only happens while we have the home theatre speakers working, the TV speakers are turned off. The TV is a Toshiba 62 in model HM62196 the home theatre is a LG, model number is LHE9674
A: You need to provide mor einformation. When does this problem occur if it is not with DVD? Also what is the model numbers of the components in your system?
Q: LG LH-T9654S Home Theater System and IPODs?
A: Can you elaborate on what you want to accomplish? It will work but there are other formats to consider.
Q: Help with setting up home theater!?
I just bought a new Samsung LCD TV (LN-T4661) and a LG Home Theater (LFD790) system. I set it all up and everything works great when I watch DVDs. However, I can't get the regular TV sound to go through the Home Theater.
I have the following connections right now:
Cable box to TV - HDMI
LG Home Theater base to TV - HDMI
LG Home Theater subwoofer to TV - Optical
Please help!
A: You need to connect your tv audio out the reciever. If your tv has digital audio out, this will be your best option.
Why is your subwoofer conected to your tv? It should be connected to your reciever. It will most likely be an analog out as well. I've never seen a digital optical subwoofer.
Q: Home theater system playing only for few minutes!!!?
I've an LG Home theater system.
It is not playing for more than 2 or 3 minutes.
It keeps playing the CD/DVD, but sound does not come after some time.
FM, aux nothing is working for more than 2 to 3 minutes.
I suppose there is some problem with the dvd player
A: Double-check all of your speaker connections. It sounds like you have a connection problem -perhaps one or more of your speaker wires are touching each other. Make sure all wire connections are fully and securely in their correct holes on the speakers and the receiver (+ to + and - to -) for all speakers, and your problem should be fixed.

Q: How to make all surround sound speakers work?
My husband has a LG home theater system. Whenever you play a DVD right from the LG ALL of the speakers work fine. Whenever we play a dvd from the blu ray player, or when just the TV is on, only the sub woofer and 2 other speakers work. He has an optical cable running from the blu ray to the LG and it still wont work. Any suggestions?
A: Make sure your system is in Dolby or dts mode.
Make sure your blu ray player is set to output 5.1 sound.
Make sure your speakers are all connected to the system
Make sure you run the system through the complete setup described in the manual. Including speaker configuration.
